What is Motor Excess Insurance

What is an excess?

An ‘excess’ is the measure of money you pay towards a claim that occurs, you will have to pay this even if you are not to blame for an incident, however this can be recoverable if the third party was at fault. The excess fee that you have to pay out will apply to vehicle repairs taking place after an incident has occurred.

What is Motor Excess Insurance?

We offer a Personal Motor Policy and a Commercial Vehicle Policy. A Personal Motor Policy covers your personal vehicle. Whereas, A Commercial Vehicle Policy covers a vehicle used for commercial and business use. These policies cover the policy excess on your Motor Insurance Policy, meaning we will reimburse you when you have a claim which exceeds the excess on your main motor insurance. You can claim as many times as you like as long as you do not exceed your annual policy limit stated on your Certificate of Insurance.

What is covered under this policy?

We cover your vehicle up to your annual aggregate limit for accidental damage, fire, theft, or vandalism. Where you were at fault, the claim will be settled when we receive the settlement letter from your Motor Insurer. For claims where you are deemed either partially at fault or not at fault if your excess is not recovered from the third party within 6 months from the date of incident we will reimburse any excess payment for which you have been made liable up to the Annual Aggregate Limit insured under the policy. We cover Motor vehicles and motorcycles under this policy.
