A new global ranking report has revealed Crystal Cruises is the best luxury provider in the world and that it offers the best experience for couples.
The US News and World Report evaluated 15 top cruise lines across six different categories to name the award winners.
Rankings were judged by looking at the cruise ship quality, price class, itinerary offerings, reputation among travellers and also results from health assessments conducted by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Crystal Cruise Lines is well renowned for its spacious vessels, which offer large suites and a host of other luxurious amenities. The firm has also just announced two new ships, one of which offers guests a casino, sprawling lounges, a Jacuzzi and a spa to unwind in.
The American owned company was crowned the winner in both the luxury and couples categories, whilst Celebrity Cruises was found to offer the best value for money and journey in the Mediterranean.
Disney Cruise Line also took home two awards, offering the best journey in the Caribbean, as well as providing the number one option for families.
Gwen Shearman, Travel Editor at U.S. News and World Report, said: “The Best Cruise Lines rankings help travellers sort through their options by showcasing the lines and ships that meet the high expectations of travellers and critics alike.”
Royal Caribbean International – who have recently announced two new ships that will run on liquefied natural gas (LNG) and utilise fuel cell technology, reducing green house emissions – finished second in both the Value for Money and Family categories.
Statistics from the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), released earlier this year, show significant signs of growth within the cruise industry in the UK and Europe throughout 2015, with experts anticipating the same trend to be reflected in the 2016 figures.
If you’re thinking of travelling abroad this year, be sure to organise your cruise travel insurance in advance.
