TripAdvisor has partnered with Google Play Music to offer a summer themed streaming soundtrack for travellers.
In yet another sign of how developments in the online world are leading to different team-ups between businesses in the real world, this latest offer gives two months of free access to curated playlists based on popular travel destinations across the world.
The idea is that whether you are planning your journey or are already on your trip, you can get into the holiday spirit by enjoying locally-themed playlists which will give you the sounds of summer that are associated with your destination.
Travellers can listen to Cafe Italiano while in Rome enjoying a local espresso or get the underground rave flavours of some of the best techno music in the world during a visit to Berlin.
Delivered by the new TripAdvisor Android app, there will be access to a fun and exciting selection of both well-known tunes and hidden gems on the carefully selected soundtracks.
The travel soundtracks are easily accessed by clicking on the Google Play Music icons included within select TripAdvisor destination pages.
Anyone using the app will get unlimited access to more than 35 million songs in the Google Play Music catalogue too, along with further personalised recommendations. All of this can also be listened to offline, so you don't need a constant internet connection on the go.
Vice President, Global Partnerships at TripAdvisor, Stephanie Kauffman, explained: “Music is such an intrinsic element of the travelling experience and we’re very pleased to provide our TripAdvisor Android app users with convenient access to the fun travel soundtracks available through Google Play Music.
“This unique integration allows travellers to enjoy a variety of curated music for popular cities around the world, and we’re delighted to be able to offer a free trial of the service.”
The new app feature will be available in more than 60 countries across the world.
