Lufthansa has offered exclusive travel by private aircraft and customised flight schedules for passengers for more than ten years.
Now the Lufthansa Private Jet premium service has been so successful that it has led to an extension of the carrier's strategic alliance with NetJets, the world’s largest provider of private jet flights, for another five years.
1,000 flights a year
Lufthansa Private Jet operates more than 1,000 flights a year and it offers a complimentary service to the usual first-class option the Lufthansa Group within Europe and North America usually runs. The flights are often used for travel to and from the Lufthansa and Swiss First Class intercontinental routes.
The added flexibility means that passengers can take advantage of flights that are available at short notice, twelve hours before departure in North America and ten in Europe, with more than 1,000 destinations covered by the service.
Small-size, mid-size and large-size aircraft are all available on different routes depending on the number of passengers and fares vary to reflect this.
First five-star airline
Executive Vice President Sales at Lufthansa, Jens Bischof, said: “Lufthansa Private Jet has established itself in the market as an integral part of our premium service and it is a perfect fit for our goal to be the first five-star airline in the Western world.
“We are therefore delighted to continue the fruitful co-operation with our partner NetJets in the coming years.”
As well as offering access to the first-class terminal in Frankfurt and to all Lufthansa and Swiss first-class lounges world-wide, the premium service includes a limousine transfer at the Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf and Zurich hubs.
The major North American airports all include VIP treatment for Lufthansa Private Jet passengers and a limousine service from home or office directly to the aircraft is also available.
