The 'Greater Barcelona' campaign is a brand new tourism push promoting the widely known attractions of the city of Barcelona alongside lesser known destinations in the surrounding area.
The Catalan capital is a popular choice for those looking for city breaks and who want to enjoy the Gaudi architecture and bustling street life, as well as its modern beaches and fantastic climate.
Now 'Greater Barcelona' has been designed to showcase that there is much more, whether that is based around the culture, landscape, gastronomy and history of nearby towns and villages including, Sitges, Calella, Manresa, Berga, Vic and many more.

Chief Executive of Barcelona Tourist Board, Jordi Carnes, and General Manager of Tourism at Barcelona Province Council, Francesc Vila, are behind the new campaign and they believe 'Barcelona is much more' than might often be perceived by potential visitors.
Catalonia has been named 'the European Region of Gastronomy 2016' and lays claim to 29 Michelin starred restaurants which have a total of 35 stars between them. The tapas bars and local food markets like La Boqueria and Vic's market offer a totally different view of the way in which food and drink play such a large part in the local way of life too.
With four Denominations of Origin of wine and Cava, Alella, Penedès, Pla de Bages and Cava, it is also responsible for producing some of the world's best sparkling wine and the spectacular vineyards are all easily accessible from the city centre via public transport.
