The Montcalm London Marble Arch is at the forefront of an initiative to offer free smartphones to guests.
The central London hotel will be the first of the Montcalm Hotels to launch their 'Handy' service, a first of its kind for a hotel in the UK and Europe.
Overseas business and leisure travellers are apparently increasingly struggling to connect their own handheld devices when travelling to the UK, so Montcalm's complimentary Handy smartphone service is set to be a unique solution.
Today's travellers are used to being able to connect to mobile phone networks across the globe 24 hours a day but the problems of roaming between international providers can still cause plenty of problems. Losing the ability to have online access or even make a phone call can be extremely frustrating, especially as smartphones become even more central to almost every day to day activity.
Now guests of The Montcalm London Marble Arch will be able to use Handy devices entirely free of charge for the duration of their stay. This will give them access to local and international calls and a 3G data connection to go online.
Complete mobile connectivity
Managing Director of Montcalm Hotels Ramesh Arora said: "In the digital era, complete mobile connectivity should be a given, so we're delighted to be the first hotel group in the UK to offer this service with the Handy smartphone."
"It demonstrates our commitment to putting the customer first by offering them the very best value during their stay, because it means our international guests can stay connected to their world, with our compliments," he added.
Arora went on to explain that the move was just one example of the way the company was applying digital innovation to enhance the guest experience. Handy's tailored service will also offer information including travel recommendations updated throughout the day and a one-touch reservation option for major attractions restaurants.
