Brits looking for the perfect getaway next year may be tempted by the list of the top 25 happiest, healthiest and richest countries in the world.
Norway made the top of the list which was compiled by the Legatum Institute; a think tank based in London.
Scoring top marks
The survey by the London firm compared 89 variables which were then divided into eight sub-indexes, including economy, opportunity, entrepreneurship, education and personal freedom.
After looking at 142 countries around the world with the most data available, Norway was ranked as number one across all sub-indexes.
Switzerland found itself in second place, with the second-highest-rated economy out of the 25 locations.
Third place welcomed Denmark, which scored top marks for its education, but a little lower in terms of health availability.
New Zealand landed fourth place, largely because of its strong social cohesion; making it the best country in terms of social capital.
Number five in the list went to Sweden since it’s achieved the world’s highest levels of entrepreneurship.
Britain was found in position 15, a little ahead of Spain and Hong Kong, but unfortunately dropping two places since last year. On the other hand, Ireland was ranked number 10; soaring two places in this year’s index.
Sian Hansen, Executive Director at the Legatum Institute, commented this report clearly demonstrates how many countries are slowly coming out of the financial crisis.
Since 2013 Britain has improved the most in economic terms, when compared to other EU economies, she added.
Ms Hansen explained that Britain is far ahead simply because of the high level of individuals in full time employment.
