Brits opting for domestic flights across the country will be pleased to hear that the Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) has announced new flights provided by Flybe from the bustling city of Liverpool to Edinburgh.
The daily departure from Liverpool to Edinburgh will be Flybe’s fourth route from Liverpool – further boosting the airlines other services to the likes of Belfast City, Isle of Man and Amsterdam.
A new addition to the airline
This brilliant addition to the LJLS’s portfolio will take the number of flights from Flybe from Liverpool to a staggering 150 every week.
Edinburgh is in fact LJLA’s very first service to Scotland in more than ten year.
And with a flight time of just one hour and 15 minutes – compared to the four hour trip to the Scottish capital from Liverpool by train and/or car, it is set to be a favourite among the Brits.
The route to Edinburgh is expected to be extremely popular among travellers looking to visit Scotland for both leisure and for a short getaway.
Meanwhile, those who take to the Scottish capital for business can make the most of this short trip via air.
Mark Povall, LJLA Air Service Development Director, commented that this new flight is a “welcome addition” to the Liverpool airport and will hugely reduce journey time to Edinburgh – further improving connectivity between Edinburgh and other parts of Britain.
Connecting to the heart of Liverpool
Meanwhile, Paul Simmons, Chief Commercial Officer at Flybe, said the firm is “delighted” to be launching this new route from Liverpool.
It’s great to be able to connect the “heart of Liverpool” to the capital of Scotland, he added.
Mr Simmons continues that this new flight is a better alternative to both rail and road, providing a more time efficient journey for regional customers.
