Focusing on the passenger’s journey
This recent upgrade has witnessed the opening of the airport’s flagship World Duty Free store and has created an additional 300 full- and part-time jobs at Stansted airport.

One of the biggest developments
Charlie Cornish, the Chief Executive of Manchester Airport Group (MAG) who owns Stansted, officially opened the new airport terminal building and commented that the transformation of Stansted was “one of the biggest developments in terms of scale” that has taken place.
He noted that when MAG first acquired Stansted airport there was a clear vision set forth to really improve its facilities.
These changes to the terminal have restored its position as the fastest growing airport in Britain with nearly 21 million travellers passing through its doors every year.
Cornish explained the £80 million investment came just at the right time; expanding the departure lounge by a huge 60% just after passenger numbers went up 25% in March.
