Culture is according to the oxford dictionary: the arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively.
Culture day takes place on 3rd November 2013
On this day in 1946 the present constitution of Japan was officially announced, two years later, the date was turned into a national holiday!
Well, lots of festivals and award ceremonies! Those resident in Japan will give awards to others resident there or even to organisations. Its all about celebrating the development of the arts and culture and recognising the arts and culture in Japan!
Personally, I think we could all take a leaf out of the Japanese’ book, and embrace our countries culture. Show off the arts we all have around us, and be thankful for them. Have a go at making your own piece of art, or just remember and make others aware of the great painting this person did or the great discovery that another person made. Embrace your culture, your arts, and be proud of yourselves and where you come from!
