The giddy heights of romance could reach a whole other level, as Britain’s first ever speed-dating flight is due to take off this weekend.
Passengers looking for love will fly from Leeds Bradford to Paris early on Saturday morning (17th November) with Jet2.com. Once the singletons touch down in the love capital of the world, their chat-up skills will be tested with a speed-dating session conducted on a romantic cruise down the River Seine.
The Only Way is Essex stars Lucy Mecklenburgh and Mario Falcone, who have had their fair share of romance in the hit reality TV show, will be on hand and on board to give passengers romance tips. Steve Heapy, Chief Commercial Officer of Jet2.com said: “We're absolutely thrilled to be the first airline in the UK to launch exclusive dating flights.
“With the help of Mario and Lucy, they promise to be spectacular trips and I'd urge single people to get on board today.” Wannabe matchmaker Mario said: “What better setting is there potentially to meet the love of your life than in the ultimate city of romance! We can't wait to jet off to Paris and help some of the nation's singletons find their dream partner.”
Anyone flirting with the idea of going on the ‘love plane’ will be pleased to hear that the flights are free of charge and all passengers are competition winners. In order to enter the competition, you must state why you deserve to get on board and include a photograph of yourself.
The initial flight taking off this weekend is full, but there are still places remaining on a second flight which takes off from Manchester on 24 November. While no similar singleton flights have been scheduled in the future, organisers might develop one for Valentine’s Day next year based on the success of these initial flights. Anyone going on a romantic break abroad might wish to take out travel insurance before they leave.
