One in ten women will change their outfit a whopping seven times a day while on holiday, new research has found.
We all like to look good while we’re away, but it seems that some female holidaymakers are taking it to extremes with their holiday wardrobe. A survey of 2,000 women, carried out by Tesco, has found that the average number of outfit changes for women is four per day.
While this could be seen as a fairly reasonable amount, the research also found that one in ten is managing to squeeze in as many as seven changes every day.“Unlike the typical day at home, which can involve an outfit for work or for popping to the shops, an average day on holiday can consist of several different activities,” said Bernadette Lusher of Tesco.
It seems that the majority of women will pack for all situations before the leave on holiday, as it was found that 80% of female travellers will not get round to wearing everything they bring with them. “Each [holiday activity] needs a different outfit - a bikini by the pool, shorts for walking around the shops and then a chic maxi dress for an evening meal,” added Ms Lusher.
“This can make packing a nightmare, especially if you are travelling by plane and can only carry a certain amount of luggage.” The average suitcase for female travellers was also revealed by the research, and includes four dresses, six tops and three bikinis. Also included in the holiday luggage is four pairs of shorts or skirts, two pairs of jeans or trousers, three pairs of flip flops and two pairs of shoes.
If you are planning on showing off your extensive holiday wardrobe abroad this summer, remember to invest in travel insurance before you leave. This will protect you financially should you be the victim of crime or have an accident.
