Carnival launches first of three new cruise ships for 2017

Carnival has launched the Seabourn Encore, the first of three new ships that will start service in 2017 across three of its global cruise brands.

The company is also set to launch the Majestic Princess – the world’s first cruise ship specifically built for the Chinese market – and the AIDAperla later this year.

This year’s additions to the company’s fleet are a part of the 17 ships scheduled to be introduced throughout Carnival’s brands by 2022.

Carnival also introduced three new ships in 2016 in order to meet a growing demand and to provide guests with a great travel experience.

Seabourn Encore, the fourth all-suite ship in Seabourn’s fleet, was designed by Adam D. Tihany – a figure well renowned in the hospitality sector.

The vessel was built in line with the company’s reputation for understated elegance, and consists of modern interiors and innovative features.

A key feature of Seabourn Encore is that it will provide a line’s high ratio of space per guest, enabling highly personalised service by its exceptional crew.

Seabourn was awarded the title of World’s Best Small-Ship Cruise Line by readers of both Travel and Leisure and Condé Nast Traveller magazines.

The ships first voyage will be to head to Indonesia, before operating a 16-day cruise to the Great Barrier Reef and Australia’s Gold Coast.

Throughout the summer of 2017 the ships will set sail along the Mediterranean, offering rich and diverse itineraries.

The number of Brits taking cruise holidays this year is expected to grow beyond two million, whilst 25 million set sail globally in 2016, according to the Cruise Lines International Association.

Travellers are being presented with more opportunities than ever, as there are 17 ports across the UK that they can use to begin their holiday.

If you’re thinking of travelling abroad this year, be sure to organise your single trip travel insurance in advance.
