£200 million revamp of Scotland’s Trump Turnberry unveiled

Scotland’s Trump Turnberry resort is set to show of its £200 million revamp with a formal ceremony taking place on 24 June 2016.

The doors of the luxury Scottish golfing resort have finally reopened following an eight-month restoration.

Construction of the main hotel building has been under way since September and it has been fully renovated, with guest rooms and suites remodelled.

One of the main attractions to the resort was Turnberry Lighthouse, which has now been fully restored and converted into a two bedroom, presidential suite costing £3,500-per night.

Over 103 guest rooms have been upgraded, including four suites, as well as the renovation of The Grant Tea Lounge and Bar and The Duel in the Sun restaurant.

Trump in the UK for official opening

There will also be the introduction of a new Italian cuisine concept, Il Tramonto, within the hotel’s signature 1906 restaurant – August will also see the Donald J. Trump grand ballroom open.

On 24 June, a ceremonial ribbon will be cut at the 110-year-old property, while the course remains on the rota to stage golf’s Open Championship.

Those attending the ceremony are set to include the hotel’s owner and the frontrunner for the US Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trump.

The hotel will be managed by Ralph Porciani, who has held positions with The Manadarin Oriental Hyde Park, the Four Seasons Regent Hotel and the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane.

Following the renovation work, which spared no expense, it is expected that the Trump Turnberry will now be among the finest hotels anywhere in the world.

Guests at the hotel can expect a private and lavish experience and can also enjoy the rich historic landscape coupled with breath-taking views.

If you’re thinking of going away this year, be sure to organise your golf travel insurance in advance.
