BA long-haul Gatwick flights offer pre-ordered meals
With customisation offers for passengers ever on the increase, the latest development sees British Airways rolling out its popular pre-order meal service for anyone using its services long-haul from Gatwick.
The initiative was originally introduced for BA flights out of Heathrow in 2014 and has proved extremely popular. Now it is also available for BA customers travelling in First, Club World and World Traveler Plus on the carriers' direct long-haul flights out of Gatwick.
Guarantee first meal choice
By pre-ordering their main meal before they fly, passengers can make sure they get their preferred first meal choice.
The process is all done online via the ‘manage my booking’ feature on ba.com and it allows BA customers to select their meal from 30 days before their flight right up to 24 hours before departure.
Exactly what customers want
British Airways’ director of customer, Troy Warfield, said: “Our pre-order option from Heathrow has proved popular with customers as it means they’re always guaranteed their meal choice, so we’re pleased to be able to expand the service further to long-haul flights from Gatwick.”
“We know this kind of service is exactly what our customers want. It only takes a couple of minutes… and frees them up on board to concentrate on what they want or need to do, be that working or relaxing.”
The announcement comes hot on the heels of news about the airline’s new routes from Heathrow and Gatwick, including San Jose and Tehran from Heathrow; and Costa Rica, New York, Lima and Cape Town from Gatwick.
As well as choosing your in-flight meal online, you can also get great deals on all your Long-Haul Travel Insurance needs.
