Brits heading to Germany must book deckchairs online

SummerTravellers hoping to get some rest and relaxation beside German pools could be in luck this year as a new system of reserving sun loungers is being introduced.

Rolled out in one resort with others expected to follow suit in the near future, the new system will mean holidaymakers have to reserve their space by the pool online – giving them greater flexibility over where they’ll be sat and saving them time and money while guaranteeing they get a seat.

Sunbathing in maximum comfort

While this means that British holidaymakers can make sure they’re able to sunbathe in comfort without leaving their hotel rooms it does spell the end for traditional towel or lounger reservations made at the poolside.

The beach resort of Sankt Peter Ording – on the North Sea Coast – is the first to introduce this method of booking deckchairs although the scheme is expected to make its way across the country.

For Brits planning their trip abroad, reserving a comfortable deck chair will cost as little as £29 for a full week or £5.80 per day.

Loungers come complete with an umbrella to ensure enough shade is provided and prevent sunstroke and some lucky bathers can even reserve loungers near the bar.

Those booking a two week holiday will receive a £4 discount on their lounger reservations with the second week costing them just £25.

Soaking up the sun in style

To help holidaymakers with the new booking process the Sankt Peter Ording resort is providing maps on their website to allow families to choose where they would like to soak up the sun.

So far the initiative has attracted little criticism and it is expected that many holidaymakers will be logging on to the website to pre-book their poolside seating arrangements and make the most of their time away from home.
