TripAdvisor study reveals best British holiday destinations

British HolidayUsing analysis of reviews posted on their site, TripAdvisor has announced the list of top holiday destinations in the UK.

The website, which is home to a massive 65,000 holiday rentals in the UK alone, looked at reviews from the past twelve months to determine which locations were rated the best.

Llandudno in Wales achieved a near-perfect score of 4.97 to put it top of the list with other Welsh locations also featuring highly – such as St. David’s which came second with a score of 4.96.

The final podium position went to Sterling in Scotland which dropped behind St. David’s by a fraction of a point at 4.95.

Welsh strength

As well as taking the top two positions, Wales also featured four times in the top ten list – more than any other country of the UK.

Llandudno, St. David’s, Hay-on-Wye and Barmouth all made the list to put Wales ahead with England only appearing three times on the list while Scotland had two entries and Northern Ireland only one.

Despite this, Northern Ireland actually came out on top when rankings were considered for whole countries rather than individual cities.

It achieved the top ranking of 4.92 for holiday rentals with Scotland coming second as a country with a score of 4.89.

Wales and England completed the bottom of the list with respective scores of 4.87 and 4.85.
