The top ten list went as follows:

  1. London, UK

The Algarve in Portugal was also revealed to be the most popular European destination for travelling Brits to spend their holiday this summer.

However, Benidorm was found to be the cheapest location to visit during the summer months out of all the top ten cities listed above.

UAE travellers abroad

However, it’s not just the European holidaymakers who love a taste of the capital, London.

According to research by Expedia.com, travellers from the UAE also named London as their fourth most popular holiday destination – despite the seven and a half hour flight – behind the likes of Cairo, Amman and Beirut.

Expedia.com provided a list of the top locations UAE travellers visited to enjoy a holiday break from everyday life.

The top ten locations were:

  1. Cairo
  2. Amman
  3. Beirut
  4. London
  5. Istanbul
  6. Bangkok
  7. Doha
  8. Manila
  9. New York
  10. Toronto

Expedia predict the top four locations are set to remain just as popular throughout 2015, based on bookings that have already been made this year.

If you’re thinking of travelling abroad this year to take advantage of the sunny climes of another country, ensure you have multi trip travel insurance in advance.
