Ryanair launches brand new customer charter

Travelling RyanairRyanair, Europe’s favourite airline, has announced its pledge to ensure that air travel is an “enjoyable experience” as part of their 2015 customer charter.

The airline’s customer charter has been unveiled by Chief Executive Michael O’Leary and includes increased leg room on the plane and reduced add-on fees.

Industry leading reliability

The charter is the airline’s latest attempt to enhance its customer service and improve customer care with reduced fees for booking online coming into effect from May 2015 and slashing prices by 33% to £33. Charges for missing flights will also be reduced to just £72.

Further to additional leg room, the onboard menu will also be significantly improved with a larger choice of healthier options provided along with a hot breakfast choice.

Ryanair has been working hard to improve their service over the past few months with their allowance of an additional bag on the plane and their introduction of free allocated seating.

Mr O’Leary commented:  

“We assure [passengers] we will continue to offer them so much more than just the lowest fares, with the biggest route network, industry-leading reliability and performance, and the best customer service.”

30th anniversary

2015 will also see Ryanair celebrate their 30th anniversary in business. During this year, O’Leary expects to see 100 million passengers board their planes with 200 million passengers predicted for 2016 with Scottish and London-based airports their primary focus.

The new charter coincides with the firm’s new ‘Always Getting Better’ programme which offers a range of brand new services including exciting new digital developments which will introduced over the next 12 months.

Some of the new improvements being made include:

  • Brand new aircraft interiors
  • New travel insurance products with competitive prices
  • Brand new ‘hold the fare’ feature
  • Faster native mobile apps

Kenny Jacobs, Ryanair CMO, noted that the airline is continuously striving to meet the needs of their customers with the addition of new routes and airports.
