Research by Kayak.co.uk has ranked the hottest destinations for a bargain winter holiday, with those packing their bags for a stint abroad next month set to make a beeline for Lanarca in Cyprus. Here holidaymakers can enjoy a much needed dose of sun, sea and sand with return flights for just £148!

Lanarca’s flight fantastic lead in October is followed a host of other destinations around the globe, which are as follows:

For those looking for a pre-festive season getaway then the hustle and bustle of Dubai are a number one choice, with return flights in November setting holidaymakers back just £266. Other wallet happy destinations this November include the following:

* Orlando, USA - £481
* Cancun, Mexico - £485

Dubai also tops the tables for a December breaks, with return flights in the final month of the year inching up by just £2 to £268. Other destinations where travellers can welcome in Christmas or the New Year in overseas style include:

The latest survey from Post Office Travel Money also revealed the destinations around the globe where holidaymakers can get more bang for their buck.

Here Brazil, Vietnam and Hungary emerged as the destinations that tick the boxes for holidaying Brits when it comes to a healthy sterling/local currency exchange.
