Brits can only wait 6 months until their next holiday fix

Once Brits have been bitten by the travel bug it can be hard for them to focus on anything else other than globetrotting around all four corners of the globe.

And according to the latest research this perpetual feeling of wanderlust is so all consuming that Brits can only wait six months before they set off on their next break.

This is the case for 41% of Brits according to research by sunshine.co.uk which showed that UK holidaymakers are keen to take a break from the stresses and strains of everyday life as often as possible.

In fact 28% of those questioned revealed that their main motivation for packing up their suitcases and heading off on a holiday abroad was due to their high stress levels.

Beyond getting some much needed rest and relaxation, holidaying Brits also revealed a number of other reasons UK travellers they are now keener than ever to head off for a spell overseas. This includes the following:

* A desire to travel – 21% * Higher disposable income – 11% * A new relationship leading to more holidays – 6% * Cheaper travel deals enabling them to make more trips abroad – 24%

Commenting on the survey findings, Chris Clarkson, Managing Director, said: “I'm sure that everyone would love to go on holiday abroad even more often than once every six months, but that's pretty good going.

“Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to jet off abroad that regularly. It's very encouraging to see that the gap between holidays has decreased.

“However, not having holidays too often can make them more special and memorable, so don't be too disheartened if your bank balance means you can't jump on a plane at the drop of a hat.”

If you are planning a foreign holiday this autumn it is important to organise single trip travel insurance in advance.
