BA announces increases to its short-haul flight schedule from Heathrow

Six additional flights per week will be operating from Heathrow to Vienna while an extra service has been added to both Stockholm (Tuesdays) and Athens (Saturdays), with the increased timetable in operation from October 26th. The additional flights to Stockholm will depart London at 6.30am and arrive at 10am on Tuesday, bringing the total number of weekly flights to the Swedish capital to 40. The new Saturday service to Athens departs London at 7.55am and arrives at 1.30pm, bringing the total number of weekly flights to the historic Greek city to 21.

Return fares to the above destinations, which include all taxes and charges, are also follows: Vienna (from £139), Stockholm (from £103) and Athens (from £118). Commenting on the increased Robin Glover-Faure, British Airways’ head of short-haul said: “This increase means even better connections and more choice for customers travelling between London and the Austrian, Swedish and Greek capitals.

“As well as enjoying great fares and in-flight refreshments, customers can treat themselves to a flight to the Vienna for the day, thanks to extra services, and our recently launched day tripper fares, which offer weekend day returns to 16 exciting European destinations.” The airline has also revealed that it will be increasing the number of flights is offers between London and Newcastle, adding an extra return flight on a Monday and Wednesday. This brings the total number of weekly flights on the route to 41.

BA offers return flights between London and Newcastle from £102 including taxes and charges. Richard Tams, British Airways’ head of UK&I sales and marketing, said: “Our route between London and Newcastle is at the very heart of our domestic network. The number of flights on offer means customers can connect through London to our entire network of destinations, offering great opportunities for both leisure and business travellers.”
