Low-cost airline Ryanair has announced the launch of four new routes from Manchester Airport from March 2014.

From this date the airline will operate new flights from Manchester to Barcelona, Bologna, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria. Ryanair also revealed that it will be increasing frequencies on five existing routes to Dublin, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Malaga and Tenerife.

Ryanair’s Maria Macken said: “Ryanair is pleased to deliver 4 new European routes to/from Manchester to Barcelona, Bologna, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, as well as increased frequencies on 5 existing routes, which will deliver over 2.1m passengers per annum and sustain over 2,100* “on-site” jobs at Manchester Airport.”

To celebrate the launch of the routes, and increased frequencies on its existing routes, the airline announced that it will be releasing 100,000 seats on sale at prices from £16.99. These are available for travel in February and March, and passengers can book these until midnight tonight (January 16th).Ryanair also recently revealed that it will be boosting its offering from Stansted airport this year, with the launch of 12 new routes from April 2014.

New routes to Basel, Bordeaux, Brive, Bucharest, Comiso, Dortmund, Lisbon, Osijek, Podgorica, Prague, Rabat & Skelleftea will be added to the airline’s Stansted schedule bringing the total number of routes to 126. The new destinations and increase in flights on key routes will offer passengers and businesses even more choice at great value and build on the strength of Ryanair’s extensive network at Stansted, the airline’s largest base in Europe.” If you are planning a trip abroad in 2014 it is important to secure travel insurance in advance.
