Want your whole life to feel like one big holiday? A job as a "Spontaneity Champion"

We’ve all bemoaned the return to work after an amazing holiday, but for a lucky few working in the travel industry the good times continue to roll on as they hop from location to location all in the name of doing their job.

Now one intrepid globetrotter can join the ranks of the travelling elite, and put paid to all thoughts of hanging up their backpack for a full 12 months. Yes you’ve guessed it, another distinctly 21st century job title has joined the ranking of ‘best job in the world’ offering one fan of all things travel the chance to "road test" a range of holiday experiences throughout 2014...surely this is every seasoned holidaymakers’ ultimate dream ?

Lastminute.com has put out the call for a "Spontaneity Champion" who will take on the task of going on holiday to professional heights as they splash out a cool £50,000 on a different travel experience each weekend of 2014. The lucky individual will then chronicle their adventures on anything from a weekend city break to a long-haul holiday in their role as online face of the brand.

Where can I sign up you ask? Well before you make headlong to the lastminute.com offices you will need to ensure that you meet the required candidate profile, you should “have a spontaneous approach to life which will inspire others". If your tales of ascending Macchu Picchu have prompted others in the office to invest in a pair of sturdy walking shoes, then you may just fit the bill. Explaining further, lastminute.com chief executive officer Matthew Crummack, said: “The spontaneity champion will inspire and remind us that often the best travel experiences are the least planned,’ said.

“Those trips we have when we relinquish control as the architect of our perfect trip and take on an attitude of discovery and embrace the unknown.” Travel journalist and member of the judging panel Simon Reeve added: “I am lucky enough to have travelled in a pretty spontaneous way, but not everyone needs to be a travel presenter to do this. “There are creative approaches you can take which mean you really can make the most of discovering the world – whether at home or abroad.”

Video applications for the role are now being taken at lovelivinglastminute.com until December 1. Whether you are travelling abroad for business or pleasure it is important to organise travel insurance in advance.
