Hertz announces new partnership for Middle East

International car hire company Hertz has partnered with a leading Middle Eastern tour operator to increase its presence in the region.

Hertz has a global reach, with car hire locations in almost 150 destinations around the world, but is looking to expand in the Middle East. The car hire company took the opportunity at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai to announce the partnership with dnata – a leading air services provider in the Middle East.

Hertz will use dnata, which is part of the Emirates Group, as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in the region – helping to raise the car hire firm’s profile. “Hertz is delighted to be aligned with an organisation of dnata’s stature and reputation, whose massive infrastructure and presence in the market makes the company an ideal partner as our GSA out of the UAE, Oman, Qatar and Afghanistan,” said Michel Taride, President of Hertz International.

“The new partnership gives us access to dnata’s extensive network and we will also benefit from a wide range of other strong relationships which have been developed by dnata during more than 50 years of outstanding service to the travel and aviation industry. The move will help to increase Hertz product awareness within the travel trade, while giving dnata access to Hertz’s global portfolio..

“Providing a wealth of products for our customers has always been our aim and this partnership with Hertz will allow us to widen the range of services we offer,” said Gary Chapman, president of dnata. “We look forward to working with the Hertz team to establish dnata as the face of the Hertz brand within the travel trade and build Hertz brand presence among our trade and corporate client portfolio.”

If you are planning on using a hire car while abroad, there are a range of companies to choose from. But it’s a good idea to invest in car hire insurance, which covers the cost of the excess on a rental agreement.
