Update 1 - November 2008

Welcome to our Autumn update, we hope that you find the information useful.  As always we welcome your feedback about any part of our service and we use all feedback to improve and fine tune our operations. 

The remainder of 2008/2009 is going to be difficult for all of us in the UK so we have added some credit crunch top tips, if you have any great ideas for saving money then let us know.

New Products Launched

We have launched two new products recently LifeStyle-Excess Insurance which insures the excesses on your household, motor, travel, pet and health insurance policies.  Premiums start at just £32.99 per annum.

HolidayCare is a travel assistance service that complements travel insurance by providing access to health related travel information, access to English speaking health professionals 24 hours a day, a service that reunites lost passports/luggage with their rightful owner, vaccination advice and a text service translating your allergies into the language of the country that you are visiting all for just £19.99 per year.

Credit Crunch Top Tips

1. Tempted not to buy travel insurance to save money and rely on the EHIC (the old E111) instead.  Don't, it is a false economy and may leave you with big bills to pay
2. Take time to shop around for the best deals, the first one might not be the cheapest
3. Pay using a credit card. It offers extra protection in the event that your travel company goes bust and you are not protected by ATOL or ABTA bonds.
4. Renting a car on your next trip?  Buy Questor's car hire insurance and save up to 60% on buying the inferior cover offered by the car hire companies
5. Pre-book your airport car parking it will save you £££'s and you get access to other services such as "Meet And Greet". Great if you have small children

Questor and the Environment

As a business we are concerned about our impact on the environment so we have taken some basic steps to minimise that impact whilst still providing you with a high level of service: -

1. Our staff are based at home, minimising unnecessary travel
2. Staff meeting are primarily conducted using the Internet
3. When we do have to meet with people we try to use public transport wherever possible
4. We power down (not leave on standby) all non-essential equipment at the end of each day
5. All waste paper is re-cycled
6. When selecting our web hosting company one of our criteria was the impact they make on the environment.  The company we chose, Rackspace Ltd, have a carbon offset scheme to counter the emissions from their data centre.
